Really? Our counrty is going to die because Barak Obama is president..people think our country is going to hell in a handbasket? Get over it people. He is our president, stop taking the election personally and get behind this man. We need to support him and lend our voices to the changes we want seen in this country. If we were to sit back feeling sorry for ourselves because the other candidate did not win, we will continue to see our country failing. Stop crying, stand up and open your mouth..demand change. Demand that we the people stop getting jerked around by big business and big oil comapanies. Demand that everyone get a fair education, grade school and beyond. Demand that our children get healthcare and protection from all those that wish to strip them of their innocense. Demand equal rights for all, and most of all demand that our leadership listen to us, not make descisions for us. Lets be the change we wish to see in this country.
No longer devide, UNITE!!!

OBAMA
He won, and I knew he would. Lets hope he can keep his promises especially the ones dealing with eduacation and teachers salaries. That is what affects me the most. Lets also hope that he can reform some of the ideas that are not so hot. Hope that he will listen to the people (unlike the former prez) and work within both parties for a better, stronger America. I am taking a wait and see approach, because...
A Nation of Sheep Begets A Government of Wolves.
Keep hope alive for a better tomorrow, but never close your eyes to the reality of politics and the games our leaders play.
P.S. I thought John McCain gave one of the most gracious consession speaches of all time. He is a true statesmen and I hope he works with Obama for a stronger America.

You give women a bad name..
So I just have to write a blog on women who give other women a bad name. Recently, my sister has been telling me about the divorce drama between her husbands brother and his wife. Now basically the divorce is happening because the chick is a hoe, proving once again that you can't turn a hoe into a housewife. That is besides the point, she has basically gone crazy since SHE filed for divorce. Here is the problem: SHE cheated, SHE left him, and now she is trying to punish him. What the hell? In the divorce she has asked for sole custody of the children even though they have time and again told her that they want to live with him, she asked for three years of alimony, child support and daycare payments. She has asked for the house, land, all their possessions, his truck and wants him to incur all their debt. WTF? She wants to leave him with nothing but the debt they both incured and she gets most of his paycheck and everything else they own and she is the one who messed up? This chick is the exact reason why a lot of men think women are nothing more than gold digging whores. This is basically the same situation my moms husband went through with his ex-wife. If you are unhappy in your current realtionship, fine. Leave. But be fair when splitting assets especially when you are the guilty party in the break-up, and for pete's sake do what is best for the children when arranging custody. It is not fair to try and take the children from the other parent because you are trying to punish them. The only person that hurts in the long run is the kids. Get over your damn self and put someone else first for a change.
Ugh! Well that is the rant on stupid freaking women who give us good ones a bad name. Can we just put women like that on an island, then blow that island up? Lets get it on the ballot next election year. Haha..that and maybe mandatory sterilization for bad parents. Who is with me?

Ready for Tuesday
I am so ready for this election it is rediculous. Not only for a change in the leadership of this country but also because I am so ready for all the negative political ads to no longer be a major part of the tv lineup. Honestly, I dont care about all the personal bull that these people feed me about the other candidate, I care about the issues. Who has the stronger policies and who is going to pull our economy out of the shitter. Now I am a conservitive by nature, but I can't endorse a candidate who wants to keep us in Iraq and does not want to invest in education. The only way we are going to turn this country around is to responsibly leave Iraq and invest in our children and their future. As a future educator, that is the most important issue to me.
That being said, I am going to move on. There is so much going on in my mind right now. I still have almost three years of school left and I feel that each term in school I am getting into more and more interesting classes. This term it is critical thinking, death and dying, and environments in early childhood education. I have to say that critical thinking has to be my favorite class so far in all my education. This is in part due to my teacher, who I must say is one of the most intellegent teachers I have ever had. The other factor in this equation is that we discuss all the hot button issues in education, parenting and life. Recently much of our class has centered around the parenting issues that are sensitive, the biggest being spanking. This is an issue that really gets people stirred up, especially becuase Early Childhood Education (which is what my Bachelor degree is in) really stresses not spanking without coming right out and saying not to spank your child. Lets just say that things have gotten heated in class and the discussions are interesting to say the least.
I live in Central Oregon and I am looking foreward to the winter. Although I prefer summer weather, I do like the winter time and all the coziness that it affords. I like snow and being indoors near a roaring fire. I also get to try snowboarding for the first time this winter, although rather reluctantly because Mt. Bachelor decided to raise its rates this winter. This is utter crap in my opinion. They have poor service and expect us to shell out more money? Also I think that it is completly irresponsible in the current economy to ask people to pay more, especially when locals (who should be getting a discount) are given the shaft. This is why I beleive companies that are not inside that state should not be allowed to own the mountain. They really only cater to the wealthy out of towners that come to ski our mountain. If Powder Corp. really wanted more business, they would give the locals a discount and I garuntee more locals would buy season passes and encourage more business on the mountain.
On the home front, I have recently become a part-time single mother. My partner was laid off this summer after being with a company for seven years. After a four month "vacation" he finally got a job with BNSF railway. He was promised a job here in town, but when he got to Seattle for training was suprised to learn that he was lied to and would either be working in Seattle or be on a traveling crew. He got on with the traveling crew and loves the work. It was a difficult adjustment for us to make at first but we are just thankful for a good steady paycheck. Plus he has alot of promise for advancement because he holds a college degree and has good work history. I think I am lucky in that I don't mind being by myself, and his parents live really close when I need help. Also, we get three day weekends together. We are currently discussing marrige plans, and it looks like we may be getting married in the spring. We are a little non- traditional as we already have a house and a two and a half month old, but it works for us. I am getting excited about getting married, and I am just wating for the official proposal to start making concrete plans. We already know where they honeymoon is going to be...The Bahamas..how cliche right? Haha. Most exciting of all is that I feel I have found a good match in the partner I have chosen. Neither of us are anywhere near perfect and we know it, we just balance each other out well.
This holiday season is a really exciting time in my family. I had my first child this summer, my brother just had his first child a month ago, and in one month my sister is giving birth to identical twin boys. It is a season for babies in my family! Christmas is going to be fun, with four somewhat newborns all in one house. My hope is that all the cousins will be close because we three siblings are pretty close. I can't wait to see them grow up together. We are planning a great family photo for this holiday season after the twins are born.
I think that is all I am going to write for today, I will be back on again with the woes of school, the highs of family, and all the hum-drum of in betweens.
